TunnelBear is notable for its consistent theming. Both have extensive backgrounds in technology startups, which gives them the necessary knowledge and experience to offer a decent VPN service. Ryan Dochuk and Daniel Kaldor founded TunnelBear in 2011. The company does offer a “free” plan, and this gives potential customers a good opportunity to take the service for a test run before committing themselves. Unfortunately, their services did not perform particularly well in speed testing, a fact which is likely to deter more sophisticated users. They lack some of the advanced features boasted by other companies, but their basic offerings generally are good enough for users who are just getting familiar with the world of VPNs. A Canadian-based VPN provider, TunnelBear offers some fairly solid services.
